Installation work in the F.A.B building: Expanding The Scope (window film) and Signal Boost (plank on shelving)
Description
Join us for a conversation between New York City-based artists of color whose work builds community, leads political action, and steers cultural organizing. Their public practices aim to decenter mainstream art-making in service of social change within and beyond the art world. Inclusive approaches like theirs build room for solidarity in resistance from ‘the margins,’ amplifying cultural expression with a paracentric lens.
Panelists include Hemi Artist in Residence Alicia Grulllón and FAB/Downtown Art Artists in Residence Native Art Department International (Maria Hupfield, Jason Lujan) and The Chinatown Art Brigade (Tomie Arai, Betty Yu).
